Christian Whitfield, age 16, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for shooting another person in a drive-by at a residence on Hwy. 510 in Shubuta back in February.
A young black male was in a yard when he was shot twice in the leg. The victim was transferred to Rush for treatment.
“It’s apparent the shooter and victim knew each other,” stated Clarke County Sheriff Todd Kemp. “We’re still trying to get the name of the shooter.”
According to Chief Deputy Barry White, there was a disagreement, Whitfield shot the other male in a drive-by and a warrant was issued. Whitfield was caught in Waynesboro Saturday night on another charge and transported to the Clarke County Jail.
His bond was set at $50,000 by Judge Tobey Bartee Tuesday in Justice Court. Whitfield will go before the Grand Jury.
