Enterprise has dominated the entire season and has recently come off a blow out against Seminary in the first round. But now Enterprise faced their toughest opponent yet in the Magee Trojans for a shot at round three. Both sides of L.J. Davis Field were packed and louder than ever as the game kicked off. The Bulldogs showed dominance early as Derryon Gray popped one in for six with a PAT good on Enterprise’s first offensive drive of the game. Bulldogs attempted to keep a long drive alive but were stopped by an inch on first down which put Magee at the Trojan 20. Magee put together a strong drive to the fifty. The stands were the loudest they’ve ever been all year as the Bulldogs led 7-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Magee came into the start of the second quarter swinging with a massive 45 yard rush that ended in a Trojan touchdown. Enterprise didn’t give up, and a huge run by Zee Sims set up a Parks Burt touchdown at the end of the half. The Bulldogs went into the half up 14-7 as the crowd was loud enough to be heard from three counties over.
Enterprise came out of the half with a fired up offense, but Magee’s defensive stand forced the Bulldogs to a missed field goal. Magee couldn't come up with an answer as Blake Wilkins made a massive sack to shut the Trojans down. The third quarter devolved into a defensive barn burner until Magee finally got a huge run outside for the game tying touchdown.
The third quarter came to an end as Enterprise was tied 14-14 going into the fourth quarter.
The defensive battle didn’t end there, but Parks Burt broke through Magee’s defense for a first and goal off a massive run. With time running out, Enterprise’s hopes were fading as Zee Sims was stopped on a third and goal from the two. The Bulldogs were lined up for a 19-yard field goal on 4th down; however, Magee would jump offsides on the play, moving the ball to the one yard line. After a Bulldog timeout, head coach Kelly Jimmerson decided to put the offense back on the field and go for the touchdown. With 21 seconds left in the game, the ball was snapped, and without hesitation, Derryon Gray hands it off to Parks Burt who fought across the goal line for a touchdown! The extra point was good, and the Bulldogs led 21-14.
Time wasn’t over just yet as Magee got one more chance with 16 seconds left after the kickoff. Trojans were quickly sacked, and with less than ten seconds left, Magee hurried to get one last snap off, but it ended with yet another sack to end the game. The crowd and sideline erupted in cheers as Enterprise won 21-14 in the second round of the playoffs.
