Benjamin Eddy "Ben" Ivy, 90, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on September 2, 2021, at his residence.
He was born on August 14, 1931, to Jeston and Elvie Jewel (Riley) Ivy in Quitman, Mississippi.
Ben served the citizens of Clarke County as a Funeral Director and Embalmer at Wright's Funeral Home for over 50 years. He also served as a Deputy Coroner for 40 plus years.
Ben is survived by his wife of 55 years, since October of 1965, Ruby Jean McNeal Ivy; son, Eddie Ivy; brothers-in-law, Robert Tuggle and Durwood McNeal and his wife, Linda; nieces, Carla Bardwell, Kay Larsen and her husband, Ernie, Connie Salter and her husband, Larry and Emily Toney; nephew, Lance McNeal and his wife, Dena; and several great nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jeston Lee Ivy; mother, Elvie Jewel Ivy; brothers, John H. Ivy and his wife, Edris and Thomas Lee Ivy and his wife, Merle; and sister, Zama Tuggle.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Coats officiating.
Burial took place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lance McNeal, Joe Tew, Dewayne Crane, Dave Thomas, Francis Clark and Hunter Harper. Honorary Pallbearers were Barry White, Greg Fairchild, and the staff and employees of Wright's Funeral Home.
