E. G. "Coonie" McPhearson Jr., 91, of Enterprise, Mississippi passed away on November 6, 2021 at Specialty Hospital.
He was born on January 28, 1930 to Erasmus and Julia (Felts) McPhearson in Meridian, MS.
Coonie served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He also retired from Southern Natural Gas after 38 Years of employment.
Erasmus is survived by wife, Lillie Mae McPhearson; three sons, Danny (Carol) McPhearson, John (Peggy) McPhearson, and David (Pamela) McPhearson; four grandsons, Gabriel (Lindsay) McPhearson, Matthew (Courtney) McPhearson, Daniel (Hannah) McPhearson, Chad (Erin) McPhearson; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Erasmus Glass McPhearson, Sr.; mother, Julia McPhearson; two brothers, Rodney Earl McPhearson, and Perry McPhearson; sister, Susie Pittman.
Visitation was held Thursday, November 11, 2021, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Coats and Rev. Richard Cothern officiating.
Pallbearers were Joel Speed, Kenneth Rolison, Jody Simpson, Travis Boyd, Gerald Covington, Stanley Herrington, Clint Lee, and Donnie Moore. Honorary Pallbearers were Randy Freeman, Jamie Taylor, and the Eugene Walker Sunday School Class.
Burial took place in the Enterprise Cemetery.
