Mrs. Hazel Norris, 94, of Quitman passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Mrs. Hazel was born June 27, 1927, in the Snell Community to the late Lewis E. Robinson, Sr. and Fannie Mae Davidson Robinson. She worked in the cafeteria at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman before moving to Quitman Junior High School where she was cafeteria manager for many years. She also sold Avon products and was known in the community for her cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was well loved by many friends, neighbors, and students.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Norris; her grandchildren, Capri Norris, Brian Norris, Randall Headrick, Sara Alexander (Michael), Amy Norris; great-grandchildren, Willow Alexander, Elim Alexander, Mabree Lee, Kodi Scott, Destiny Norris and Ariel Norris; great-great grandchildren, AdaLynn Hazel, Brayden, Brantley, and Graceland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her husband, William Leon Norris; her daughter, Debbie Norris Walker; her son, Elim K. Norris; her siblings, Lewis Robinson, Jr., Charlie Reed Robinson, Raymond Ray Robinson, Eunice Marie Robinson Ford, and Linda Faye Robinson Creel.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Archusa Memorial Gardens with Dennis Coats officiating.
