Services for Tom Impello of Quitman, MS, were held on Tuesday, April 13th, at 10:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Andrew's Chapel Cemetery.
Tom was born on October 19, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY. He was a second-generation Italian, with all of his grandparents having been born in Italy. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. He lived in Brooklyn until he joined the US Air Force in 1950. After his basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, he was stationed at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS. That is how he came to marry a Southern Bell named Mary Alice Brewer.
Tom was a jack of all trades and held many jobs throughout the years; banker, computer operator and business owner to name just a few. He has lived in Quitman for over fifty years and was a faithful member of the Quitman First United Methodist Church. In later years, he volunteered weekly at the Clarke County Food Pantry and always had a smile or a joke for everyone.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Alice Brewer Impello; mother, Louise Penta Delucie; father, Louis Impello; and infant daughter, Lori Impello.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Impello Lane (Randy); grandchildren, Jennifer Lane Domingos (Doug), Robert Lane Jr. (Maribel); and six great grandchildren, Aaron Domingos, Lori Domingos, Matthew Domingos (Kanah), Mari Lynn Domingos, Ashlee Lane and Katie Lane.
Mr. Impello passed away at his daughter’s home in Hattiesburg, MS, on April 9, 2021. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
