LSU and Alabama are where all eyes will be Saturday night. The electric atmosphere of Tiger Stadium is what makes college football so special. Alabama has won plenty of times in Baton Rouge, so they will not be intimidated. LSU has vastly improved in the last month, but still they have their skeptics. The contest should be an entertaining event to say the least.
The take from week 9
Auburn's win over Ole Miss gives them hope to make it to Atlanta. For Ole Miss it was a reality check that this team might not be going bowling. MSU has the same problem that Ole Miss has -- they can't keep people from scoring. Florida, Kentucky and South Carolina came away with key SEC wins.
BETTER TAKE NOTICE GAME:
South Carolina's win over Tennessee shows the Gamecocks could be a bowl team with a win over Missouri this week. Kentucky also needs a little pat on the back for their big win at Missouri.
This Week
This week’s big game is, of course, in Baton Rouge, but other important contests are MSU hosting A&M, South Carolina hosting Missouri, Kentucky hosting Georgia, Arkansas entertaining Florida and Auburn battling Vanderbilt on the Plains. Ole Miss hosts Georgia Southern while Tennessee meets in-state school Tennessee Tech. USM will host Charlotte in C-USA play.
The Picks
The Bulldogs will have the awesome challenge of playing host to Texas A&M this week. The Aggies are a top 10 team, so MSU will have to step up a lot to compete. A&M wins, 45-27.
Ole Miss scored over 40 points per game early in the season, but since that four game stretch they have only hit 30 points one time. Auburn ran at will last week, but the Rebels competed. This might not be the breather Ole Miss wanted. Ole Miss 44, Georgia Southern 34.
USM should be able to handle Charlotte as the Eagles are slowly moving toward another division title in C-USA action. USM 33, Charlotte 17.
Alabama has had good success in Baton Rouge over the years. The Tide has only been challenged once this year, and that was against Ole Miss in week three. LSU is on a roll, and Tiger Stadium will be loud Saturday night. Never, however, go against Alabama in a big game. Bama 24, LSU 13.

The Scribe did not see the Gamecocks' upset of Tennessee last week as he went 6-1. This record improved his seasonal record to 65-15.
