MacKenzie Schrimpshire is currently raising funds for a mission trip she will be attending to Nairobi, Kenya, in Africa from June 30 to July 9.
The trip will be done through The Awakening, an IPHC World Mission ministry out of Oklahoma. While there, she and the group she will be working with will have a chance to work with and witness to individuals that are typically overlooked.
“We will be going into the most rural parts of Kenya,” explained Mackenzie. “There will be like streets of homeless people, and then we’ll also be able to go into the special needs schools and minister to them and their families. We’re also going to be helping with something that is like a Vacation Bible School there. We’re going to go into those areas and get to tell them about Jesus.”
This will be the first mission trip she has taken outside of the United States, and there is a lot that she has to do to prepare, including covering the cost of plane tickets, passports, vaccinations, and other items that she is required to take with her such as enough food to sustain her throughout the trip in case there is an issue where the food in the area makes them sick.
In order to help with the cost, she is doing some fundraisers.
One fundraiser she is doing is selling t-shirts to help raise some of the funds she will need. The t-shirts are available in two different colors and in sizes ranging from youth size to adult 4X and cost $25 each. To order a shirt, simply contact Mackenzie Schrimpshire through her Facebook page. For those who would prefer to order a shirt at a physical location, there are also ways to order a shirt in the office at First Baptist Church in Quitman or the office at the Clarke County Baptist Center. The last day to order a t-shirt will be June 1.
Her goal is to raise around $3,500-$4,000 by June 1.
Purchase a t-shirt to help Mackenzie as she crosses the ocean to share Jesus to people in Africa.
