Pam Hampton was hired as the physical education teacher at Quitman Upper Elementary and Quitman Lower Elementary in 1998. After several years of teaching at both buildings, she found her permanent home at Quitman Upper Elementary.
Pam has had multiple responsibilities, including some of the following: on the First United Methodist Church Pre-school board and is an Outreach Health Services board member. She has also been the Teacher of the Month several times at Quitman Upper Elementary and was a Clarke County Tribune Teacher Spotlight. She was voted Teacher of the Year by her peers. She is a member of the Mississippi State University Alumni Association of Clarke County. She serves on the Clarke County Distinguished Young Women committee. She was chosen by her peers to represent Quitman Upper Elementary on the Teacher Advisory Committee for Quitman School District. She is a member of the Scott County Sports Hall of Fame and also serves as one of their board members. In 2019, Pam became a member of the East Central Community College Athletic Hall of Fame.
One of her proudest moments was being able to serve on the board of our first ever Fellowship of Christian Athletes Sports Youth Basketball league. One of her highest achievements of being a teacher came in March of 2018 when she was named the Golden Apple Teacher of the Month. She has been married for 33 years to Steve Hampton, and they have one daughter, Hannah Hampton.
