Mildred Hazel Beckman, 81, of Quitman, MS, passed away on May 12, 2021, at her residence. She was born on May 4, 1940, to Melton and Hazel (Loper) Shirley in Shubuta, MS.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Unigay (Charles) Dobson; sons, Bob Miller and Joe (Geneva) Miller; daughter, Ann (Dale Blackmon) Burgess; brothers, Johnny Shirley, Harold Shirley, Earl Shirley and Elvis Shirley; sister, Jean (Jimmy) Broadway; grandchildren, Billy (Amber) Burgess, James Blackmon, Billy Joe Miller, Jessica Miller, Neil Williams, Angel Miller, Shea Nuggetts, Jeff Dobson, Bryce (Casey) Dobson, Brant (Melissa) Dobson, Cheramie Dobson; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melton Shirley; mother, Hazel Shirley; husband, Jimmy Dale Beckman; daughter, Marie Burgess; sister, Ora Mae Fagan; and a brother, George Shirley.
Visitation was held Friday, May 14, 2021, 9:30 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Quitman, MS. Funeral services were held on May 14 at 10:00 a.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Ann Burgess officiating. Burial took place in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
