Camping lovers everywhere will be thrilled with a new camp area on the river at the old Gappy’s Fish Camp location: Miles on the River RV Park.
Owners Billy and Shanna Miles have already converted the area into a great camp area containing sites for campers and a great cabin available for rent.
“We put in 14 full sites that have the 50, 30, and 20 amp plugs, sewer hookup, and water,” described Shanna. “We have a two bedroom, one bath cabin. It has a king bed, queen bed, two couches in the living room that pull out into two full size beds, and all the linens are available. There’s a place setting for six and a nice deck on the back with an area for sitting or eating.”
The cabin was completely remodeled, and anyone who rents a space for a camper or rents the cabin has full access to the swimming pool on the property. The pool contains fountains and a water slide and is the perfect place for families to swim if they don’t want to get in or float the river. Since the park is right at the public boat ramp for the river, campers have easy access to the river.
While they are already accepting reservations, they are still working on adding various things to grow the park and have plans to make it even better.
“We are getting an outdoor shower house for people who want to come and do primitive camping,” continued Shanna. “There’s a nice sandbar over the hill that people could set up a tent. We hope later on in the future to use two overflow wells in one corner of the property to make a splash pad for children. We also want to fence in one area of the property to have for people to be able to place their dogs if they want while enjoying everything so that their dogs can have space to run around and play safely. We have plans to keep growing but don’t want to get it too big so that we don’t overcrowd it.”
The park has a beautiful view of the river and is extremely affordable. To rent a camping pad for campers is only $25 a night. The cabin costs $100 a night Monday – Thursday and $125 a night Friday – Sunday. The cabin provides all the amenities so that people only have to bring their personal items such as clothes and bathing products like soap and shampoo.
