Former Enterprise Police Chief Joey Moulds was indicted by the Grand Jury on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, for aggravated assault stemming from a hit-and-run case in October 2019.
While off duty, Moulds was involved in a hit-and-run incident October 19, 2019, where a car rear-ended him and fled the scene, ending on Highway 513 near the Clarke County Airport. Moulds chased the vehicle down, an altercation ensued, and shots were fired.
The case was investigated by Mississippi Bureau of Investigations, and an independent district attorney presented to the Grand Jury due to the nature of the case.
Moulds was booked into the jail Tuesday and bonded out. The bond was set at $2500 by Circuit Judge Bailey. A trial date will be set by the court.
