Audrey Harlston Barton passed away January 25, 2021, peacefully at home. She joins her mother, Maude Harlston; her father, Clarence Harlston; and her sister, Martha Harlston White in their heavenly home.
Affectionately known as "Nana", she was born and reared in Clarke County. She returned in 1978, after moves around Mississippi, with her husband of 66 years. She served as Clarke County Election Commissioner for eight years, was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Quitman, MS where she taught Sunday School, VBS, as well as being an active WMU member.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe; a daughter, Martha Barton May (Mark); two grandchildren she adored, Emily May Lequerica (Frank) and Philip Barton May (Lauren); along with two great grands, May Catherine Lequerica and Harris Barton May. She also leaves to cherish her memories a niece, Sue White Taylor (Walter); two grand nephews, Jason and Jeremy Taylor; a great niece, Melissa Taylor Tingle (Alan); and a sister-in-law, Lois Oglesby Smith (Jimmy).

A graveside service was at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Stonewall Cemetery.
