Charlotte Ann Coats, 71, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Rush Foundation Hospital, after years of health issues. She was born on January 7, 1950, to Charles and Bonnie (Neely) Beckman in Quitman.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Charlotte served faithfully by the side of her husband, Dennis, in the ministry for 46 years. She loved teaching Sunday School (children and adult ladies), and was the pianist at Calvary Baptist Church, Quitman, for over 25 years. Reading her Bible and praying for her family was her top priorities in later years as a shut-in.
Charlotte is survived by her dear husband of 50 years, Dennis Coats; sons, Jeff (Karen) Coats and Joey Coats; daughter, Kim Coats (Chris) Bryan; six grandchildren, Griffin Bryan, Grace Bryan, Ethan Coats, Jake Coats, Kaden Coats, and Emma Grace Coats; brother, Mark (Heather) Beckman; sister, Kathy Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Bonnie Joyce Neely Beckman; brother, Ricky Beckman; and sister, Rhonda Beckman Creel.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2021, after 12:30 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Kennedy officiating. Burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
