Edwin Lamar Gunn, 87, of Stonewall, Mississippi, passed away on February 21, 2021, at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS.
He was born on July 31, 1933, to Adrian and Rosa (Kuntz) Gunn in Clarke County, MS.
Mr. Gunn was a veteran of the United States Army, and an active member of First Baptist Church of Stonewall, MS. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Gunn; two daughters, Gail Gunn (Wendell) Buffington, and Faye Gunn (Larry) Adams; son, Jim Gunn; two brothers, Freddy (Rosa) Gunn, and Charles (Linda) Gunn; five grandchildren, Shea (Lee) Mosley, Nikki (Scott) McCain, Susan (Tracie) Buffington, Kala Mathis, and Kyle (Cassie) Gunn; seven great-grandchildren, Fletcher (Madison) Warren, Austin (Sarah) Mosley, Colton McCain, Eli Mosley, Brandon McCain, Caden Mathis, and Audrie Mathis; three great-great-grandchildren, Emma Claire Davidson, James Ryan Sealey, and Kallie Faith Warren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Rosa Gunn; sister, Katie Gunn; two brothers, Sammy Ray Gunn, and Roy C. Gunn; and a grandson, Brian Adams.
Visitation was held Wednesday, February 24, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Gullick and Rev. Ray Files officiating.
Burial took place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Todd Kemp, Carl Robinson, Ricky Harper, Kit Chancellor, Joe Chancellor, and Walter Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are his Grandchildren, Muscles Harper, and Buddy Dew.
