Ila A. Downs, 91, of Stonewall, Mississippi, passed away on February 4, 2021, at her residence.
She was born on January 23, 1930, to Edward and Vinnie (Battles) Allen in Clarke County, MS.
She was a member of Stonewall Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School for most of her adult life.
Ila is survived by her niece, Linda Rolison; brother-in-law, Mickey (Shirley) Downs; great-grandchildren, Morgan (Nick) Rigdon, Madison Downs, and Mallory Downs; three great-great grandchildren, Annaleigh Rigdon, Drew Rigdon, and Adam Rigdon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Lavelle Downs; son, David Downs; grandson, Jonathan Downs; father, Edward Allen; mother, Vinnie Allen; three sisters; two brothers.
Visitation was held Sunday, February 7, 2021, 1:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 7, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ed Shoemaker officiating.
Burial took place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nick Rigdon, Robbie Allen, Donnie Allen, Mike Crabtree, Roger Rolison, and Robert Daugherty.
