Katie Ruth Doggett, 94, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on September 16, 2020, at her residence.
She was born on February 27, 1926, to Eddie and Myrtle (Rolison) Dobbins in Clarke County, MS.
Katie is survived by three daughters, Miriam (Lavell) Boykin, Beverly (Tony) Johnson, and Sandra Doggett; two sons, Jimmy (Linda) Doggett and Roscoe Doggett; sister, Thelma Neely; eight grandchildren, Stephanie (Billy) Harris, Erica Rogers, Keith (Jessica) Doggett, Mike (Dana) Giles, Barry (Renae) Giles, Tammy (Joey) Eckman, Lamar (Claudean) Smith, and Carla (Brent) Fortenberry; 15 great-grandchildren, Braydon Harris, Chase Rogers, Chance Rogers, Makinzey Doggett, Madison Doggett, Cameron Doggett, Taylor Giles, Nick McIlwain, Ryan Clayton, Trent Clayton, Brittany Eckman, Mechell Eckman, Davey Eckman, Justin Smith, and Josh Smith; three great-great-grandchildren, Ezra Smith, Hazel Smith and Korbyn McIlwain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Myrtle Dobbins; husband, James H. Doggett; four brothers, Ernest Dobbins, Howard Dobbins, Elmer Dobbins, and Frank Dobbins; sister, Doris McHenry.
Visitation was Saturday, September 19, 2020, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jessie Griffith officiating. Burial followed in the Stroud Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Mike Giles, Keith Doggett, Trent Clayton, Davey Eckman, Justin Smith and Joshua Smith.
