William Edward Lee was born to Robert E. Lee and Lena Mozingo Lee on May 31, 1929, in Wayne County. He joined the United States Navy at the age of 18 and retired in 1974. He then worked at Pepsi Cola for 32 years. After he retired from Pepsi, he worked for Clarkdale and Quitman Schools until he finally retired for good in 2017 when he was 88 years old.
He passed away on February 17, 2021.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Floyce Lee; five daughters, Kim (Chris) Dew, Alicia (Jim) Ivy, Lisa (John) McFarland, Tami (Ed) Neely, Pam (David) McIlwain; one son, Eric (Kim) Lee; 15 grandchildren, Brittney (Greg) Mangum, Brooke (Bryce) Branning, Tori Dew, Brandon Dew (fiancé Lilian Elmore), Dylan and Dalton McFarland, Morgan (Mark) Smith, Kyle (Peyton) Dearman, Jacob Dearman, Meagan (William) Miles, Tyler and Blake McIlwain, Alex (Destiny) Lee, Mallory and Nate Lee; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Lee; and special friend, David Dearman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Lena Mozingo Lee; three brothers, Robert H. Lee, JC Lee, and MacIlwain Lee; and one sister, Ruby Mazingo.
Visitation at Rolling Creek Baptist Church from 12:30-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021.
The funeral was held Sunday, February 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Rolling Creek Baptist Church. The burial took place at Rolling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery following the funeral.
Pallbearers were Brandon Dew, Alex Lee, Kyle Dearman, Wyatt May, Tyler McIlwain, and Dylan McFarland. Honorary Pallbearers were Nate Lee, Blake McIlwain, Dalton McFarland, and Jacob Dearman.
The officiants for the service were Bro. Norman Robinson, Bro. Troy Dew, and Bro. Ed Shoemaker.
