The Reverend Mike Everett, retired minister from Meridian, delivered an opening prayer to the state Senate on Monday, January 16, 2017, at the invitation of Senator Videt Carmichael, who led the Pledge of Allegiance before Lt. Governor Tate Reeves led the lawmakers into the day’s business.
