Northsider Lester Herrington gives a comprehensive report on what caused the Jackson water crisis.
Herrington is the director of the Office of Environmental Health for the Mississippi Sate Department of Health. He was on the emergency team that got the O. B. Curtis water treatment plant back up and running.

Storms, tornadoes slam US South, killing at least 7 people

SELMA, Ala. (AP) — A giant, swirling storm system billowing across the South on Thursday killed at least six people in central Alabama, where a tornado ripped roofs off homes and uprooted trees in historic Selma, while another person was killed in Georgia, where severe winds knocked out power to tens of thousands of people.

Fossilized Shell found in flowerbed

A resident of Pachuta, MS, found this piece of art while breaking up stones in her flowerbed recently.
After she brought it to the Tribune, we contacted the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science in Jackson, MS, for information on the piece. They told us very interesting information about the stone.
