The Nation's Weather for Thursday, June 29, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A complex of thunderstorms capable of producing hail, flash
flooding and damaging winds is expected to develop in the
Ohio Valley and dive southward into the Tennessee Valley
tomorrow. A separate area of severe thunderstorms will
likely develop very late in the afternoon or during the
evening hours in southeastern Wyoming, western Nebraska and
south-central South Dakota. Those storms are then expected
to trek across Nebraska and eventually into Iowa overnight.
Large hail, isolated tornadoes, flash flooding and damaging
wind gusts are all possible with those storms. Elsewhere,
thunderstorms in southern Maine and coastal Massachusetts
could cause ponding on roadways. Widespread heat will bake
the southern Plains and much of the Southeast, and some
locations may have their highest temperatures this year.
