The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, October 11, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop late tomorrow
as a strengthening storm pushes from the Rockies into the
central Plains, and hail, downpours and localized damaging
winds could occur from Iowa westward across much of Nebraska
through the night. On the back end of the storm in the
Northwest, an influx of cold air will produce areas of rain
and accumulating high-elevation snow for the Cascades and
the Rockies. Farther south, tropical moisture will be drawn
into a separate storm as it tracks across the western Gulf
of Mexico, leading to widespread intense rainfall from the
central Gulf Coast into parts of the Florida Panhandle as
the day progresses. Showers will stretch across the interior
Northeast and parts of the Great Lakes region. Most other
locations will be generally dry.
