The Nation's Weather for Monday, June 17, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm tracking toward the central Plains will be the
focus for severe thunderstorms tomorrow, bringing the risk
for hail, damaging winds, downpours that may produce
flooding and even some tornadoes across a zone extending
from northern Nebraska into the western portion of the
Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Just to the south and east of
there, a large zone of more spotty afternoon thunderstorms
covers areas from the eastern Great Lakes to the Tennessee
River Valley. South of there, an emerging tropical
rainstorm brings numerous showers and some thunderstorms to
the weatern and central Gulf coast and points inland
through Louisiana and most of Mississippi. Otherwise,
showers of rain and very-high-elevation snow dot parts of
the Northwest as heat continues to expand in the East.
