The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, May 31, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
With an increase in tropical moisture, thunderstorms are
expected tomorrow across much of Florida, southern Georgia
and perhaps the South Carolina coast. Some storms will be
capable of bringing very heavy rain, which can lead to flash
flooding. Farther north, dry and increasingly warm weather
will be in place for the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, with
high temperatures in the 80s to near 90 being common. In the
High Plains, thunderstorms are set to develop during the
evening hours, with some likely turning severe from western
Nebraska to West Texas and nearby portions of Mexico. Large
hail, damaging wind gusts, flash flooding and an isolated
tornado are all possible as storms track eastward overnight.
