Sanders Ainsworth launched a towering two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift No. 14 Jones College to a 7-5 victory over No. 3 East Central in game two of a doubleheader.

The Warriors crushed Jones, 27-6, in the opener here Monday evening at Community Bank Park.

No. 14 Bobcats fall in final seconds to Itawamba

The last team to beat Jones College in conference play was Itawamba back on Jan. 13, 2025 in Fulton.

The Indians did it again Monday night in the game's final 30 seconds, 75-74, using former Bobcat DJ Davis’ jumper to snap Jones' 19-game MACCC win streak.

Tootie Lockett’s 15-footer as time expired lifted Itawamba to a 54-53 victory over Jones College here Monday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.

Sanyla Smith (Tupelo) scored for the Bobcats on a putback with .8 seconds to play to give the Bobcats a 53-52 lead.
