Quitman Powerlifting Awarded Championship Rings

Quitman celebrated the Lady Panther Powerlifting team and the Panther Powerlifting team winning 4A state championships in 2025 with a ring presentation before the game Friday, September 26, 2025. Each student-athlete was presented with a championship ring in front of fans, family and community at Panther field.

Friends and family of Tracy McCarty are hosting a Benefit Car and Bike Show in honor of Tracy McCarty on October 25.

It will take place at The Garage Food and Drinks, located at 2339 Highway 145 South in Quitman, with gates opening at 10:00 a.m. Judging for vehicles will begin at 2:00 p.m.

No. 4 Holmes edges No. 5 Bobcats with late goal

Deadlocked into the final minutes of regulation, No. 4 Holmes connected on a free kick from on top of Jones' box in the 87th minute to steal a 2-1 win against No. 5 Jones Friday night at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.

Holmes improved to 11-1, 6-1 MACCC and handed Jones its second straight one-goal defeat to fall to 7-3-2, 4-2-1.
