Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) is now serving Anderson Regional Health System for all their blood products and blood center related needs. As of October 1, 2016, MBS will be the primary source of blood and blood products for Anderson Regional Health System. MBS collects, processes and distributes blood from Mississippi donors throughout the state to patients in Mississippi. MBS’s primary focus as a community blood center has always been serving the communities from which we collect blood, including Meridian and Lauderdale County.
“Blood supply is a vital component in caring for the needs of our patients, and we are proud to claim MBS as a partner in providing critical blood needs to the people we serve,” John G. Anderson, President and CEO of Anderson Regional Health System, commented.
Just how vital a component blood can be isn’t lost on the MBS team.
“Donating blood is easy and many times donors don’t realize the impact they have on patients just by donating blood,” Kathrine Byrd, MBS Marketing Representative, said. “But having been on the receiving end of blood donations, I know firsthand what it means. Blood donors make a world of difference to Mississippi patients needing blood!”
Mississippi Blood Services is looking forward to strengthening its relationship with Lauderdale County and surrounding area residents with this new commitment to Anderson Regional Health System. Mississippians know that communities are strongest when they pull together in times of crises. Every day, patients throughout the state face their own personal storms and places like Meridian always pull together for those patients. Mississippi Blood Services is proud to be a part of these amazing communities!
