Administrators, Teachers, and PTO members of Quitman School are planning a “Spring Fling for the Rings” block party on Thursday, March 31 at the Quitman High School campus and gym. The evening will begin at 5 pm with special guest speakers and an introduction of the 2016 4A Basketball State Champion team and coaches on a stage set up on the band practice field (behind football field). Following this presentation, Quitman School District bands and cheerleader squads will perform for the public. At approximately 5:30, the block party will begin with loads of food and many activities for everyone.
The National Guard will be returning with activities for children and youth of all ages. Organizations and clubs from throughout the district will be sponsoring food booths. There will be hot dogs, curly fries, walking tacos, homemade sweets, candy, as well as the famous “Italian Ice” booth as well as other goodies. The booths will be open until about 7:15.
At 7:30 pm, the gym will open for a 3 point and Slam Dunk Contest as well as a presentation of a highlight video from the Lady Panthers’ Championship season. The activities for the evening should end at approximately 8 pm.
All proceeds for the activities and food during this event will go to defray the cost of the championships rings for the Lady Panthers. Please come prepared for a night of fun and food and help these young ladies obtain a lifelong memento of the season that all the hard work of the Lady Panthers paid off.
