A Community Prayer Service was held at the Clarke County Courthouse Thursday, June 16. This event was a special prayer service dedicated to the Uvalde school shooting, law enforcement, and protection for our community. Officers from Meridian Police Department were present with Officer Kennis Croom’s police car. Croom was shot and killed in Meridian last week.
Balloons were released in memory and in honor of law enforcement, the children killed in the school shooting and for domestic violence. Several community leaders spoke and prayed including Judge Tobey and Lynnita Bartee, Pastor Ray Files, DeMarcus Gates, Pastor Advial McKenzie, Pastor Alonzo Williams, Pastor Marjorie Walker, and Pastor Jason Castle.
A second Community Service Prayer Service will be held at the Clarke County Courthouse on Thursday, July 7. Singing at 6:30 p.m. and program at 7 p.m. We will focus on the Alabama church shooting, Washington, D.C., cancer, covid, lupus, heart disease, monkey pox, and schools. Bring a chair.
