The No. 9 Jones College dominated in an 8-1 victory over No. 15 Mississippi Gulf Coast here Tuesday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the MACCC.
The Bobcats won all of the doubles matches.
Heidi Clayton (New Albany) and Theresa Emelio (Australia) beat Victoria Ros Fabuel and Isona Arnaus in No. 1 doubles, 8-3. Camila Piquín (Argentina) and Maria Martinez (Argentina) defeated Paige Baronich and Pia Pugliese in No. 2 doubles, 8-2. Katlin Porcello (Oak Grove) and Josie Tullos (Newton County) edged Meredith Matthews and Katelyn Walker in No. 3 doubles, 8-6.
Piquín beat Arnaus in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4 and Clayton whipped Pugliese in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Emelio defeated Baronich in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and Porcello shut out Walker in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Caroline Kilpatrick (Brookhaven) downed Rogers in No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-2. Martinez lost a close one to Ros Fabuel in No. 3 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-10.
