Charles Edward Helms, 76, of Enterprise, Mississippi passed away on August 11, 2022, at his residence.
He was born on May 17, 1946, to Herman and Velma (Smith) Helms in Quitman, MS.
Charles was a longtime active member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church in Enterprise, MS. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved spending time hunting and fishing and considered himself the number one fan of Enterprise Athletics. He was a loved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that loved spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his wife, Billie K. Helms; son, Steve E. (Mary Kaye) Helms; two daughters, Stacey L. (Jeffery) Gibbs, and Libby (Duane) Gressett; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Jason) Evans, Matthew Helms, Madelyn (Bobby Ray) Morland, Dalton (Olivia) Kamper, Dylan Gibbs, Bo (Jordan) Gressett, and Whitney Gressett; eight great grandchildren, Addy Evans, Keegan Evans, Kole Morland, Halli Morland, Slade Morland, Rubee Helms, Aspyn Helms, and Zaidee Gressett.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman G. "Rook" Helms; mother, Velma S. Helms; and brother, Jimmie Helms.
Visitation was held Saturday, August 13, 2022, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Enterprise United Methodist Church, Enterprise. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 13, 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Owen and Rev. John Wesley Leek officiating. Burial took place in the Enterprise Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Enterprise United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers were Matthew Helms, Dalton Kamper, Dylan Gibbs, Jason Evans, Bobby Ray Morland, and Bo Gressett. Honorary pallbearers were Keegan Evans and Troy Parker.
