Dorothea Mae "Reecie" Harrison, 82, of Enterprise, Mississippi, passed away on September 16, 2022, in Meridian, MS.
She was born on January 22, 1940, to J.B. and Selma (Cooper) Hinson in Slayton, TX.
She was a member of Daughters of the Confederacy and also participated in the Wreaths Across America. She was very avid in genealogy research and some of her work was used by Historical Clarke County. "Nanny Reecie" was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother that loved helping out all people in her community.
Reecie is survived by her husband, Lesley Carl Harrison; two sons, Bill (Ila) Savell, Sr., and Richard (Ann) Savell; son-in-law, Chuck Alsup; six grandchildren, Kimberly (Lewis) Brown, Jamie (David) Thompson, Billy Savell, Jr., Alfred Savell, Chris Savell, and Joe (Heather) Savell, Jr.; 12 great grandchildren, Noah (Lauren) Litchfield, Shane Kennedy, Cooper Savell, Trey Savell, Lexi Savell, Chloe Litchfield, Laura Beth Thompson, Jessalyn Savell, Aubrey Savell, Brooklyn Anderson, Hannah Thompson, and Alison (Brad) Redman; two great great grandchildren, Audrey Litchfield, and Kaden Smit; brother, J.B. "Dale" Hinson; and a sister, Dorothy Gilley.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.B. Hinson, Sr.; mother, Selma Mae Hinson; daughter, Patricia Renee Alsup; grandson, Jesse M Savell; and a brother, Douglas Hinson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022, after 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 1:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Roger Ivey, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Thompson, Lewis Brown, Charlie Gilley, Austin Gilley, Chuck Alsup and Andy Becton. Honorary Pallbearer will be Ralph Hinson.
