Faye Norris Akins Brownlee, 95, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on January 26, 2022, at her residence. She was born on July 7, 1926, to Harvey and Cora (Fuller) Norris in Clarke County, MS.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Quitman, in her adult life. She had a love of playing golf and was one of the founding members of Quitman Country Club. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Katherine Akins Weintz; grandson, Norris Henry Weintz; two granddaughters, Faye Margaret (Christopher) Paige and Anna Kate (Lent) Lindsey; three great-grandchildren, Faye Katherine Paige, Zane Lindsey, and Kate Lindsey; six nieces and nephews, Glenda Williams Huff, George C. "Buddy" (Brenda) Williams, Phyllis Hollingshead, Patsy Tinsley, Peggy Donnell, and Sandy Norris (Fred) Helsel.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Norris; mother, Cora Norris Gilbert; first husband, Harold Edward Akins; second husband, James Hubert Brownlee; son, Timothy Edward Akins; three brothers, Eldridge Norris, John D. Norris, and Delavan Norris; and a sister, Opal N. Murphey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Dr. Gene Neal officiating. Burial will take place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
