Hulon "Muscles" Edward Harper, 89, of Stonewall, Mississippi, passed away on August 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on November 5, 1932, to Clarence and Leona (Privett) Harper in Stonewall, MS.
Muscles served in the United States Army Reserve and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and worked as Supervisor at Burlington Industries for over 40 years.
Muscles is survived by his wife, Dixie Kelly Harper; sons, Shane (Tawny) Harper, Vince (Donna) Harper, Terry (June) Burcham, Kent Barksdale, Keith Barksdale, and Jerid (Malinda) Barksdale; daughters, Sherry (Ronny) Moore and Kelly (Doug) Hoover; brother, Ricky (Becky) Harper; along with 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Leona Harper; sisters, Hazel Huckabee, Claudia Kidd, and Lully Collins; brothers, Bernice Harper and Toby Harper; and nephews, Ken Huckabee, Wayne Huckabee, Todd Harper, and Brooks Harper.
Visitation was held Friday, August 26, 2022, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Stonewall United Methodist Church, Stonewall, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 26, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at the Stonewall United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Irby and Rev. Pat Oakes officiating. Burial took place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
Pallbearers were members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Muscles' grandsons.
