Jerrold "Jerry" T Dearman, 78, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on October 8, 2022, in Meridian, MS. He was born on November 17, 1943, to Charles and Desma (McDonald) Dearman in Quitman, MS.
Jerry was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service where he served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. He received numerous accommodations for his service including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, Air Force Presidential Unit Citation and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Martha Dearman; two sons, Arthur Thomas Dearman and James Norris Scott, Jr.; four daughters, Shelly Jones, Brenda (Timothy) Thompson, Summer Scott, and Kat Smith; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Joan (Terry) Knight; and sister-in-law, Melissa Dearman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Thomas Dearman; mother, Desma Lee Dearman; and brother, Joel Marcus Dearman.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, after 1:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 3:00 p.m. at the Montrose Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in the Montrose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Dearman, Charles Dearman, Nick Dearman, Chris Dearman, James Scott, Jr., Lance Thompson, Sam Jennings, Aiden Cooley and Eric Thompson.
