Lee Frances Vinson, 88, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on December 12, 2021, at her residence. She was born on May 25, 1933, to Edward and Ruth E. (Clarke) Carey in Worcester, MA.
Lee was the owner and operator of Vinson Apartments, a historical building in Meridian, that was owned by Clint Vinson, mayor of Meridian, MS, from 1933 to 1944. Lee received awards from the City of Meridian for her Christmas decorations of the Vinson Building.
Lee is survived by four daughters, Ruth Vinson, Patricia Vinson, Melinda Vinson (Rick) Northam, and Jaynice Vinson (Steve) Neely; son, Marcus Neal (Debra) Vinson; sister, Patricia Carey Bond; four grandchildren, Danielle LeFavour, Eddie LeFavour, Marcus Clint (Alissa) Vinson, and Clint Michael Vinson; and two great-grandsons, Castle LeFavour, and Bane LeFavour.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Carey; mother, Ruth E. Carey Hobbs; son, Clint Eugene Vinson; and grandson, Elec Robert Northam.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 10:30 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pam Randall officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, MS.
