Sarah V. Williams, 86, of Quitman, MS, passed away on June 10, 2022, at Diversicare of Quitman.
She was born on March 17, 1936, to Mack D. and Sallie G. (Johnson) Tew in Carmichael, MS.
Vondee was a familiar face in Quitman due to her many years working at Odorless Cleaners. She loved her family, her many friends, and her flowers. She found joy in cooking and caring for not only her family, but many others in the community. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Vondee is survived by her sister, Myra I. Tew; son, Mike Williams; daughter-in-law, Robbie Williams; six grandchildren, Brock (Sarah) Hamrick, Ryan Rawlings, Erin (Cory) Blanchard, Scott (K'lyn) Williams, Lauren (Josh) Barrett, and Natalie Cartulla; nine great grandchildren, Gianna Hamrick, Caleb Hamrick, Raimi Rawlings, Brooks Barrett, Kara Cartulla, Dominic Cartulla, Samuel Hamrick, Memphis Williams, and Callen Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack D. and Sallie G. Tew; sisters, Gilda Tew Page, Patricia Tew Glass, and Judy Tew Lafferty; son, Phillip G. Williams; niece, Shelia A. Glass; and nephew, Byron A. Glass.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 14, 2022, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 14, 11:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Gullick officiating. Burial took place in the Andrew's Chapel Cemetery in Carmichael, MS.
Pallbearers were Steve Whaley, Andy Lafferty, Scott Williams, Cory Blanchard, Josh Barrett, and Danny Ray Holifield.
