Stanley Ray Shirley, 78, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on January 16, 2022, in Toomsuba, MS. He was born on August 30, 1943, to Ernest and Ruby (Long) Shirley in Snell, MS.
He loved the outdoors and working in his yard. He was a christian man who loved the Lord and his family. He was a Mason and was a member of the Army National Guard serving in Desert Storm.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Wanda Shirley; son, Jaime (Courtney) Shirley; daughters, Donna (Cliff) Satcher, Rozanne (Jimbo) Evans, Pam (J.P.) Parker, and Stacy (Shawn) Burkhalter; brother, Wayne (Sherry) Shirley; sister, Tina Stanley; grandchildren, Jeremy Dearman, Kristen Parker, Zach (Jordan) Parker, Drew Parker, William (Gen) Rogers, Peyton (Kyle) Dearman, Shelby (Alex) Boger, Blayke Burkhalter, Dakota Boney, J. D. Evans, Chris (Beth) Evans, Heather Evans, Kayla Shelton, Casey Walker, Austen Shirley, Patten Shirley, McKinley Shirley, Jorden Shirley, Jenifer Evans, Jessica Walker, Christian Satcher, and Nicholas Satcher; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Rogers, Adien Vargas, Bryson Boger, Kole Dearman, Willow Rogers, Cooper Rogers, Andrew Boman, Shanyah Conner, Raine Walker, Kalye Evans, Brisyn Evans, Kajen McTaggart, Jaiden Walker, Haiden Prince, Star Holifield, Ryan and Alex.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Alonzo "Honey" Shirley; mother, Ruby Edith Shirley; and sisters, Peggy Bolen and Kathy Mae Luke.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022, after 5:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 20, 11:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Castle officiating. Burial will take place in the Harmony Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Dearman, Blayke Burkhalter, Zach Parker, Drew Parker, William Rogers, Dakota Boney, J.D. Evans, Chris Evans, Austen Shirley, Patten Shirley, and Jorden Shirley. Honorary Pallbearers will be J. P. Parker, Jimbo Evans, Cliff Satcher, and Shawn Burkhalter.
