Aubrey R. "Cobb" Carmichael, 82, of Stonewall, MS, passed away on April 27, 2016, at Anderson's Hospital.
Mr. Carmichael was a member of First Baptist Church Stonewall. He was a member of Masonic Lodge Wilson #72, Scottish Rite, Hamasa Shriner, Mississippi Education Association and Mississippi Association of Coaches. He coached all sports at one time or another during 30 years with only one losing season. He was Coach of Year, DeSoto Conference and Coach of Year Sam Dale Conference. Mr. Carmichael played basketball and baseball at JCJC and played varsity basketball at USM.
He is survived by his wife, Mamie Lois Carmichael; sons, Michael Ray "Mike" Carmichael, Daniel Keith "Dan" Carmichael, Richard Stone "Rick" Carmichael; brother, James Lavell Carmichael; grandchildren, Amber (Jeremy) Smith and Kari Diane Carmichael; and great grandchildren, Christian Miller, Raeleigh Carman, and Maddox Leist.
Visitation was held Friday, April 29, 2016, 5:00- 8:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, MS.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 30, 2:00 pm at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Albert McMullan officiating. Burial took place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
