Birdie Jean Davidson, 88, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on Christmas Day at her home surrounded by the love of her family, her loyal caregiver, Joyce Jury, and her minister, Bro. Dennis Coats.
She was born on September 30, 1931, to Jodie and Vivian (Mathis) Ford in Clarke County, MS.
Birdie is survived by her sons, Martin (Pat) Davidson and Cecil Ray (Sandy) Davidson; daughters, Sandra Davidson Gray, Shirley Ann (Jimmy) Kennedy, Sarah Davidson, and Deborah Sue (Skip) Keen; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Davidson; father, Jodie I. Ford; and mother, Vivian Lucille Ford; grandson, Jodie Evan Kennedy; sister, Mary Ella Ray; and brothers, Lavon Ford, Martin Ford, Hobert Ford and James Ford.
Visitation was held Friday, December 27, 2019, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services were held on Friday, December 27, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Coats officiating. Burial took place in the Archusa Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were the grandsons, Jamie Kennedy, Kenny Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, William Shirley, Ben Shirley and Gary Davidson.
