Dewayne Talbert, 73, of Hickory, Mississippi, passed away on June 27, 2023, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
He was born on December 28, 1949, to Edward and Lillian (Ivy) Talbert in Union, MS.
He was an active member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church of Hickory, MS.
Dewayne is survived by his son, Thomas S. (Michelle) Smith; brother, Dan (Sue) Talbert; sister, Helen (Thomas) Barnett; nine grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward D. Talbert; mother, Lillian L. Talbert; wife, Rita Irene Talbert; and a son, Robert Anthony Talbert.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023, 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, 10:00 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Laird and Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating.
Burial will take place in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery (Quitman).
