Eleanor Doggett Griffin, 93, of Quitman, MS, passed away on February 18, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 7, 1924, to William and Daisy (Satcher) Doggett in Clarke County, MS.
Eleanor is survived by her sisters-in-law, Katie Ruth Doggett, Velma Griffin, Helen Smith, Sibyl Williams, and Faye Bruner; brother-in-law, Jim (Shirley) Griffin; two god-grandchildren, Doug Doggett, Nikki Doggett Harper; six god-great grandchildren, Andrew Petty, Analese Petty, Andrew Harper, Hayden Shows, Taylor Reese Doggett, and Tate Doggett; beloved pet, Buffy; numerous nieces and nephews who loved her as much as she loved them.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Ray Griffin; parents, William and Daisy Satcher Doggett; four brothers, Cecil Doggett, Curtis Doggett, Grady Doggett, and Haskell Doggett; sister, Jewel Doggett; father-in-law, Claiborne Griffin; mother-in-law, Maudie Griffin; god child, Jerry Doggett.
Visitation was held Sunday, February 19, 2017, 5:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, MS. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 20, 11:00 am at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dennis Coats, Dr. Gene Neal, officiating. Burial took place in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack Combest, Doug Doggett, Gary Doggett, Randall Doug, Jimmy Doggett, Larry Griffin, Doug Griffin, Marty Griffin, Jimmy Harper, Sam Moore, and Greg Williams.
