Frances Rebecca Gordon Owen age 92, died Monday, October 17, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus, MS. Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 3:00 PM at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman, MS, with Tony Fleming officiating. Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Owen was born on Wednesday, May 07, 1924, in Detroit, MI, to the late Richmond Terrell and Sarah Journikin Gordon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell I. Owen; her granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Ivey; her grandson, David Ivey; and her brothers, Buddy Gordon and Berry T. Gordon.
Survivors include daughters, Wanda Johnson (Michael), Orange, TN; Nita Ely (Jim), Lake Charles, LA; and Mary Frances Owen Jones (Mike Crowe), Columbus, MS; grandsons, Mark Owen Watts, Gary Alan Watts, Hunter Edward Ely, Russell Frank Jones and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
