Gene Touchstone, 77, of Stonewall, passed away on October 28, 2016 at his residence. He was born on April 4, 1939 to John and Helen (Williams) Touchstone in Stonewall, MS.
Gene was a Merchant Marine for 35 years. He was a Mason. Gene loved life and was happy to be around everybody. His hobbies included camping, working at his shop and being with friends and family. He was loved by his friends and family.
Gene is survived by his wife, Helen Touchstone; son, Victor (Carole) Touchstone; sisters, Vashti (Dean) Overby and Amelia (Bobby) Huddleston; grandsons, Robert Austin (Jessica) Touchstone and John Colton Touchstone; great-grandson, Jackson Touchstone and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Helen Touchstone; brothers, Bobby Touchstone, Ralph Touchstone, and Frank Touchstone; and Valeria Oglesby.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 30, 2016, after 5:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016, 11:00 am at the Stonewall Baptist Church, with Rev. Nick Ulmer and Rev. Paul Trosoer officiating. The body will be carried to the church at 10:00 Monday for Visitation. Burial will take place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cleo Howard, Eric O'Neal, Todd Kemp, Troy Smith, Charles "Chuck" McNeal, Buddy Dew, Charles Fagan, Ben Moore, Carl Robinson, Ronnie Goldman, Red Wilkins, and Robert Earl Adams.
