Gerald Darrell Jenkins, 77, of Quitman, passed away on June 16, 2016 at Anderson's Hospital.
He was born on June 2, 1939 to Woodrow and Ruth (Reynolds) Jenkins in Clarke County, MS.
He worked for Clarke County School District as Transportation Director for 13 years under William C. "Coach" Boone and also worked for Clarke County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy for over 10 years.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Mae H. Jenkins; son, Tony (Cathy) Jenkins; daughters, Sherlyn Means, Tammy Jenkins, and Lesia (Tommy) Broadway; sister, Nalene Jenkins; grandchildren, Natalie Dobbins, Hannah Jenkins, Kristina Thorn, Shauna Echols, Matthew Echols, Zackery Broadway, and Jared Cannoles; great-grandchildren, Hunter Dobbins, Tate Dobbins, Carley Hopkins, Cole Means, Ava Means, Sawyer Thorn, Everett Thorn, Daylan Weems, Wyatt Echols, Gracie Echols, Layken Broadway, and Kinsey Cannoles; and great-great grandchild, Brenna Renfrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Ruth Jenkins; brother, Walter Jenkins; and grandsons, Tyler Broadway and Brent Means.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016, 9:30 am - 11:30 am at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016, 11:30 am at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Sliger officiating. Burial will take place in the Jenkins Family Cemetery.
