Howard Henry Smith, 66, of Quitman, MS, passed away on July 22, 2016, at his residence.
He was born on April 4, 1950, to Henry and Nedar (Everett) Smith in Jackson, MS. He was a graduate of Forest Hill High School in Jackson, MS. Mr. Smith was a longtime member of Van Winkle Baptist Church in Jackson, MS and he was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish.
Howard is survived by his wife, Billie J. Smith; step-son, Wade (B. J.) Lucas; three sisters, Betty Lou Smith, Carolyn Sue Massingill, and Laura Ann DuBard; three step-grandchildren, Bracken Lucas, McKenna Lucas, and Carney Lucas.
Pallbearers are Bill DuBard, Landon DuBard, Nathan DuBard, Dewayne Carney, Steve Glass, and Melvin Hutcherson
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nedar Smith; a step-son, Eric Lucas; and a Sister, Gwen Russell.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 25, 2016, 9:00 - 10:00 am at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 10:00 am at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Peggy Tyson and Rev. Myrtle Carney, officiating.
Graveside services and burial will take place in the Ellisville Cemetery, in Ellisville, MS, Monday July 25 at 12:30 pm.
