James Harold “Yogi” Barfield
Memorial services for Harold Barfield will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 10:00 at Russell Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Taylor officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Barfield, 77 of Meridian, MS, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Bedford Care Center of Marion. He was born on January 17, 1940, to Louis and Mary Barfield in Sumter County, Alabama.
He was a lifelong truck driver and diesel mechanic. He loved spending time with his family and had a passion for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Barfield; sons Jim Kidd, Ricky (Vicki) Kidd; daughter, Melanie (Raymond) Mitchell; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends the Emmett Springfield family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Barfield; brother, Charlie Barfield; sisters, Eva Mize, and Carol Byer.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Anderson Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.
