James Robert Vickers Sr., 74, of Meridian, passed away on February 20, 2017 at Anderson's Hospital.
He was born on November 19, 1942 to Ed and Lucille (Haddox) Rutledge in Quitman, MS.
James is survived by his son, Robbie Vickers; daughters, Patti Collins, Hope Vickers, and Becky Ellison; brothers, Darrell Rutledge and Mike Rutledge; sister, Becky Hofer; grandchildren, Nikki Connell and Casey Griffith and great-grandchildren, Gracie Myatt and Clay Myatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Lucille Rutledge; brother, Alton Vickers; grandson, Caleb Johnson and wife, Kittye Vickers.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017, 11:00 am at the Crossroads Church Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Winstead officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jason Rutledge, Eddie Vickers, Nick Tucker, Derek Princell, Brandon Hofer, and Keith Alford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clay Myatt, Lonnie Timms and David Russell.
