Jessie Linda Dearman James, 76, of Quitman, MS, passed away on October 19, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at Regency Hospital in Meridian, MS. She was born on April 27, 1947, to Jesse Dearman and Beryl (McKenney) Herrington, in Clarke County, MS.
Linda had a great love for her husband, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband of 40 years, William "Bill" James; children, Benny (Melinda) Bozeman of Quitman; Shawn (Cindy) Bozeman, Hull, GA; Blake (Emily) James of Picayune, MS; Amy James, and Alan (Sharon) James; grandchildren, Kayla Bozeman, Logan (Jamey) Boland, Leyanna (Wayne Herrington) Bozeman, Baylee "Little Lady" (Bo) Stafford, Jordan "Miss Priss" Bozeman, Reid "Buckeroo" Bozeman, Addie Jo "Sweet Tater" Bozeman, and Jude "Scoot Scoot" James; nine great grandchildren, Baylee, Elainna, Raylin "Punkin", Brandon, Maverick "Possum", Holland, Kody, Kasen and Jesse "Tick Turd"; brother, Mike (Tommy) Smith of New Orleans, LA; sisters, Faye Varnell of Muscle Shoals, AL; Mary Ann Clarke of Needham, AL; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Beryl Herrington Dearman; son, Ronald James; and sisters, Helen Turner and Peggy McInnis.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, after 5 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home in Quitman, MS.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 21, at 10 a.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Coats officiating. Burial will take place in the Hebron Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kelvin Hiatt, Jody Covington, Joey Redmond, Wayne Herrington, Bo Stafford and Reid Bozeman.
