Manuel Anthony Oliveros, 69, of Quitman, Mississippi, passed away on August 16, 2020, at Anderson's Hospital.
He was born on March 26, 1951, to Manuel and Rose (Gutierrez) Oliveros in Sutherland, NE.
He retired as a Metal Chief from the United State Navy and was awarded Sailor of the Year in 1982. He was a longtime resident of Canton, MS where he served in the Lion's Club.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Beverly Oliveros; daughters, Kathy (Prentiss) Cumberland, Kim (Michael) Douglas, Stacey (Shannon) Pelas, and Jessica (Kevin) Ritchie; brothers, John Hernandez and Daniel Hernandez; sister, Lupe Mohr; grandchildren, Nicholas Jones, Ryan Scott, Justin Miller, Chasidy Miller, Drew Scott, Jenna Miller, Wesley Douglas, Katie Ritchie, Jack Douglas, Kaleb Ritchie, and Levi Douglas; and great grandchild, Chandler Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Rose O. Oliveros; and his sister, Maria Chafco.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2020, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, 12:00 p.m. at the Wright's Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Gene Neal and Rev. Guy Odom officiating.
